The Pacific Basin Economic Council is an association of over 1,100 business leaders from 20 economies in the Asia-Pacific region dedicated to expanding international trade and investment.

PBEC holds its annual International General Meeting in major cities throughout the region, most recently in Hong Kong, Honolulu, and Tokyo. The IGM is the region's premiere business event, and regularly attracts CEOs of the region's largest corporations, heads of government, senior ministers and a larger international media contingent. PBEC seeks articulate, dynamic and versatile individuals to assist with planning for these and other important conferences and programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Open to all Hawaii students with relevant academic backgrounds e.g. business, economics, international studies, marketing, etc.
  • Excellent business writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Excellent cross-cultural skills.
  • Proficiency in a second language and/or international travel a plus.
  • Knowledge of international business and political affairs in the Pacific Basin.
  • Minimum 20 hours per week.
