  1. What are the basic requirements to submit a nomination to be selected as a finalist for the award?

    • Nominees must be PBEC member companies
    • Projects must be site-specific
    • Projects must have a measurable impact on both the environment and the company's profitability
    • Companies must demonstrate understanding of the improvements in the following criteria within their organization:
      1. Conservation benefits
      2. Business benefits
      3. Beneficial use of technology
      4. Managerial innovations

  2. How many recipients will be selected for the award? Are there different categories?

    The top three (3) finalists will be recognized in rank-order similar to gold, silver, and bronze levels.

    There are no separate categories - all are evaluated on the same criteria listed above. Each nominee is first evaluated against the basic criteria and for completeness and validity of their nomination. Nominees who meet these requirements are then evaluated by judges.

  3. Is there a limit to the number of nominations accepted from each economy?

    No, there is no limit.

  4. Who are the judges?

    Judges are proven academic and community or industry leaders from their economies in areas of sustainable development, environmental protection, corporate environmental policies and controls, or biodiversity.

  5. How do the judges evaluate each finalist and select the award recipients?

    They assign points for each nomination in every category of criteria as listed in the nomination papers.
