Accompanying Persons Program
& Optional Activities
PBEC 2002 Mid-term Meeting
Los Cabos, Mexico
October 21-23, 2002

In addition to joining PBEC delegates at social and meal functions, Accompanying Persons at the Mid-term Meeting can enjoy all three of these special activities for Tuesday, Oct. 22:

  • Golf Clinic - Eldorado Golf Club
Instructors will help you enhance your technique at the driving range then perfect your swing on a few of the course's most beautiful greens.
  • Boat Ride & Snorkeling Session - Santa Maria Bay
Take a boat ride passing by the world famous rock arch formation "El Arco", Pelican Rock and Island of Sea Lions where the Pacific meets the warm water of the Sea of Cortez. Then boat off to the Santa Maria Bay for a snorkeling session. Those who wish to snorkel should bring a bathing suit and towel. Those who wish to just go along for the ride should bring a camera.
  • Cabo San Lucas Tour
With music and exotic aromas from open-air grills filling the streets, this is the ultimate activity for those seeking the quintessential Los Cabos experience. The tour will include such stops as a glass factory where local artisans can be seen crafting hand-blown treasures from glass and time to partake in the fabulous shopping of Los Cabos.

For Mid-term Meeting delegates and accompanying persons, other activities are available at additional cost. They include:

  • Oct. 21: Monterrey Deep Sea Fishing Challenge (US$126 per person)
The blue waters of Los Cabos provide some of the finest sport fishing in the world. Marlin, tuna, wahoo and dorado are caught year-round at this paradise. Come and test your skills with the best fighting fish in the Pacific.
  • Oct. 21: Asia-Pacific 2002 Golf Challenge - Eldorado Golf Club (US$100/$32 club rental per person)
The Eldorado Golf Club provides an exciting challenge for all levels of golfers. This oceanfront 18-hole paradise, a Jack Nicklaus signature course, has five holes adjacent to the ocean and four lakes. This professionally designed course will kindle a golfer's passion for both the game and Baja California Sur.

  • Oct. 21: San José del Cabo Tour (US$26 per person)
Visit the historic Misión San José del Cabo, which was founded in the early 18th Century. Enjoy a brief cooking class on Mexican cuisine in "El Patio Restaurant." There will be plenty of time to window-shop in the center of this historic town.

  • Oct. 23: Todos Santos Tour (Free)
Take a one-hour scenic trip to Todos Santos, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Originally established as a mission in 1723, Todos Santos is nowadays home to painters, sculptors, artisans and intellectuals. Visit the mission, the historic theatre, and Hotel California. Plenty of time to shop and lunch in the Italian Restaurant "Café Santa Fe" is included!
  • Oct. 24: Relax on the Beach - Beach at Hilton Los Cabos Hotel (US$44 for Yoga Class - Groups of 6)
On the last day of your vigorous trip, come relax on the beach. You owe it to yourself. Get a massage, take a yoga class, play volleyball or just take a dip in the water and lay in the sun.
