PBEC Chairman Visits Hawaii

Prominent Korean business leader meets with Honolulu business community Friday

[ S.R. Cho ]HONOLULU (Jan. 15, 2003) — Pacific Basin Economic Council Chairman Mr. S.R. Cho will be the featured guest at the inaugural PBEC Power Lunch, a monthly event for current and prospective members of the PBEC International Hawaii Association (PIHA).

During the intimate business gathering, Mr. Cho will share his personal insights on Korea’s economic future under President-elect Roh Moo-hyun, as well as the rising global tensions surrounding North Korea.

Following the luncheon, Mr. Cho will be available to the media at an informal press briefing, scheduled for 2 p.m. at the PBEC International Secretariat. The secretariat is located on the 10th floor of Pioneer Plaza at 900 Fort Street.

Mr. Cho, who is also the Chairman of Korean manufacturing giant Hyosung Group, is in Hawaii to attend several business events, including a meeting of the U.S.-Korea Business Council.

PIHA is an association of Hawaii business leaders whose business vision extends far beyond our shores, and who support PBEC’s mission of expanding international trade and investment.
