John S. Wadsworth, Jr.
Advisory Director, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter

John S. Wadsworth, Jr. is an Advisory Director for Morgan Stanley globally, and until recently Honorary Chairman of Morgan Stanley Asia. Mr. Wadsworth was a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated, Chairman of Morgan Stanley Asia Limited, Chairman of Morgan Stanley India Securities Limited and Chairman of Morgan Stanley Asia (Taiwan) Limited until November 30, 2000. Morgan Stanley Asia Limited incorporates all of the Firm's businesses for non-Japan Asia and Australia, carried out through offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Seoul, Taipei, Melbourne, Mumbai, Sydney, Shanghai and Beijing. The largest office and the hub for Morgan Stanley's operations in non-Japan Asia is Hong Kong. In addition to his responsibilities in non-Japan Asia, Mr. Wadsworth had policy and strategic oversight for the Firm's business in Japan.

Mr. Wadsworth joined Morgan Stanley as a Managing Director in 1978. From 1978 to 1987, he had numerous responsibilities in the U.S. Investment Banking Division including being a member of the Investment Banking Operating Committee, Co-Head of the Corporate Finance Department, Chairman of the Firm Investment Account Committee, and Chairman of Morgan Stanley Ventures. Mr. Wadsworth organized Morgan Stanley's first Leveraged Buyout Fund and served as a member of the Investment Committee. Mr. Wadsworth also initiated the Firm's high-tech IPO business with the Apple Computer IPO as the first important transaction.

In September of 1987, Mr. Wadsworth moved to Japan where he was President of Morgan Stanley Japan, Chairman of its Executive and Operating Committees and head of the Firm's investment banking business in Asia. While in Japan, he was a member of the Committee for Foreign Corporations of the Keidenren, a Governor of the American Chamber of Commerce and a Trustee of the US Japan Foundation. In January of 1992, Mr. Wadsworth moved to Hong Kong.

Mr. Wadsworth is a Trustee of the Asia Society, the Vice Chairman of The Pacific Basin Economic Council (PBEC) United States Member Committee, a Trustee of Williams College, and a member of the Board of the Guggenheim Museum of New York. Mr. Wadsworth is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Littleford Brothers Inc. in Florence, Kentucky.

Mr. Wadsworth was born in Fort Thomas, Kentucky in 1939. He earned a B.A. from Williams College in 1961, and a M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in 1963. He began his investment banking career with The First Boston Corporation in 1963, where when he left in 1978 he was Executive Vice President, a member of the Management Committee and the Board of Directors and Co-Head of the Investment Banking Department.

Mr. Wadsworth is married with three children, all of whom reside in the USA.
