Tadahiko Ohashi is currently the Chief Executive Economist for Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. Since joining Tokyo Gas in 1963, he has served as the organization's Managing Director (1998-2000), Director (1996-1998), and as the Director of Gas Malaysia (1996-2000). His recent international activities include: Speaking at the Fourth APEC Energy Ministerial Conference in San Diego (2000); Serving as a Session Chairman at the Symposium on Pacific Energy Cooperation, sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and MITI in Tokyo (2000); Serving as Japan's representative to APEC EWG Business Network (1999); Reporting at the APEC Energy Ministers' Meeting in Okinawa (1998); And speaking at the 17th Executive Conference of CERA in Houston (1998). He graduated from the University of Tokyo Law Department in 1963. And he has also served as an Associate for the Center for International Affairs at Harvard University (1983-1984) and as a Lecturer on Energy Economics, Faculty of Economics, University of Tokyo (1986-1988). His publications among other works in the field of energy economics include The Political Economy of Energy (Diamond, 1988; Energy Forum Prize in 1989). |
