Since 1993, DR. VICTOR ISHAEV has been the Chairman of Interregional Association for Economic Cooperation between the Territories of Zabaikalye and the Far East, which unifies 13 territories of the Russian Federation. The headquarters of the association is located in Khabarovsk.
Ishaev started his working career in 1964 in Khabarovsk Shipbuilding Yards. In 1988-1990 he was the Director General of the Khabarovsk Plant of Aluminum Constructions. In 1990 he began working for Khabarovsk Territory Administration. He became the Governor of Khabarovsk Territory in 1991, initially appointed by the President and later reelected by people. From the first day of working as the Governor of Khabarovsk Territory, his activities aimed to reform the Khabarovsk Territory economy, to stand for vitally important concerns of the Khabarovsk Territory residents, and to attract finance and material resources to the Far East. It was reflected in the adopted Presidential Federal Target Program for Social and Economic Development of the Far East and Zabaikalye for 1996-2005. He is a full member of the Academy of Social Sciences of the Russian Federation, the International Academy of Interregional Cooperation, and a Doctor of Economics. Ishaev is also Chairman of the PBEC Russia Member Committee. |
