Mr. Davies graduated with honors from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. He then began his career as a law clerk to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Ontario followed by three years in private practice. In 1963, Mr. Davies joined the Foundation Group of Companies as General Counsel. In 1970, he became General Counsel of Metro Centre Developments Ltd., a consortium of Canada's two railway companies. Following this post, Mr. Davies joined Canadian General Electric Company (now GE Canada) as Associate General Counsel. Since 1987, Mr. Davies has been Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of GE Canada and GE Capital Canada. During his tenure, GE Canada and GE Capital Canada have developed into truly global organizations that bring world-class business and work practices to their operations. In addition to being Chairman of PBEC's Working Committee on Transparency, he is Vice-Chairman of the Canadian Chapter of Transparency International, and he is the Chairman of the Bribery and Corruption Committee of the Canadian Council for International Business. He is an active member of the ICC Standing Committee on Extortion and Bribery and of the Business and Industry Task Force on Corruption and Bribery to the OECD Working Group on Bribery in International Business Transactions. |
