U.S. Trade Representative Charlene Barshefsky to Join PBEC for Mid-Term Meeting in Singapore

U.S. Trade Representative Charlene Barshefsky will be joining delegates at the annual PBEC Mid-term Meeting (MTM), to be held this year in Singapore from November 10th through 12th. Ambassador Barshefsy will be en route to the APEC meetings in Brunei.

As President Clinton’s principal trade policy advisor and negotiator, Ambassador Barshefsky will have important insights on key issues such as China’s entry into the World Trade Organization, and prospects and US priorities for the APEC meetings. President Clinton has said of her record and accomplishments, she "has been a brilliant negotiator for our country." Ambassador Barshefsky will be addressing PBEC delegates at a luncheon on November 11th.

PBEC’s Mid-term Meeting brings together the organization’s inner circle, to discuss and issue policy recommendations, to participate in working committee meetings on areas ranging from electronic commerce to transparency, and to chart the future direction of PBEC.
