The Asian Financial Crisis: A Focus on Solutions
October 19, 1998
Westin Century Plaza Hotel and Tower
Los Angeles, California

"What can business, government, and international institutions do?"

PBEC held a high-level, one day conference on the Asian financial crisis, on Monday, October 19, 1998, the day after its Mid-term Meeting concluded in Los Angeles.

The conference brought together key leaders from business, government, and international institutions, to focus on solutions, and strategies to turn the situation around. The financial crisis is the single biggest issue facing Asian economies today. To varying degrees, this situation is increasingly affecting all of us, and the situation in some economies is extremely precarious.

The conference provided an outstanding opportunity for PBEC to contribute constructively to the biggest challenge to face the region in the 31 year history of this organization.
