The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the frailties of global value chains, characterized by the high interdependence between leading firms and suppliers located across the world. With most economies under lockdown and constant trade disruptions, the future of the pre-COVID value chain model is uncertain.
In this context, the signing of RCEP and the USMCA coming into force in 2020 strongly signal the increasing importance of regional trade agreements with more interconnected supply chains and set trade rules.
Join us in this conversation with trade experts about the impact of regional trade agreements during the economic recovery period and the way forward to more resilient value chains.
