Several senior PBEC members & board of directors attended fellow Corporate Member ICAEW Annual Gala Dinner at the Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong on the 24th October. Over 260 senior executives, founders, CFO & CEO’s were in attendance co-hosted by Sir David Li Executive Chairman at Bank of East Asia & Alan Vallance the new CEO of ICAEW founded in 1880. Our own PBEC Chairman Andrew Weir MBE, BBS, JP who is a council member of ICAEW spoke at the event honouring those ICAEW members who have served over 50 years with the institution that itself is over 140 years old.
PBEC members in attendance were: Executive Director Michael Walsh, BoD’s Lei Yu QBE, Anna Lin MH, JP GS1 HK, Anthony Chan Isola Capital, Eli Konvitz HKU, Andrew Weir MBE, BBS, JP, Mary Simpson ICAEW, and several PBEC HK community friends.
It was a wonderful evening and a chance to catch up face to face in what is traditionally a busy autumn period.
PBEC hosted a close door roundtable luncheon at the HK Club earlier in the day with senior UK & HK executives & officials including the British Consulate General in HK, Britcham, FSDC, PBEC, Britcham and ICAEW to provide them with latest updates and insights into the state of the Hong Kong SAR economy, on UK/HK trade relations, opportunities for UK in ASEAN.
