Noel Levi Secretary General South Pacific Forum |
W. Noel Levi, CBE, is Secretary General of the South Pacific Forum, which works to enhance the economic and social well-being of the people of the South Pacific by fostering cooperation between governments and between international agencies.
Forum members include Australia, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, New Zealand, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
Prior to his appointment as Secretary General of the Forum Secretariat, Levi was Papua New Guinea Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and National Executive Council. He has been involved in Papua New Guinea public service since 1961.
Levi received a Certificate of Management from Papua New Guinea Administrative College in 1969, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Papua New Guinea in 1973. He was born February 6, 1942 at Nonopai Village, New Ireland Province of Papua New Guinea. He is married with four children.
