Graeme Lawless Managing Director Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (Australia)

Graeme Lawless was appointed Managing Director of EFIC in January 1992. He is also a board member of the Australian Trade Commission.

EFIC is Australia's Export Credit Agency. For 42 years, it has assisted a diverse range of Australian businesses in their overseas activities. It does so by providing clients with internationally competitive insurance and finance services, particularly for those countries, companies and contracts which the commercial market may not have the capacity to cover.

Lawless had an extensive career in public administration and trade policy in Australia and overseas. He has worked in a number of areas of the Australian Government, including foreign affairs, trade policy and with Australia’s overseas aid agency.

He was previously a Director of the Australian Wool Corporation. While posted to the United Nations in New York, Mr Lawless served on the Governing Boards of the UN Development Program and UNICEF, and on the UN’s Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
