PBEC hosts the premier business conference in the region each year, the International General Meeting brings together more than 700 business leaders, government ministers and heads of state from more than twenty-five economies around the Pacific, to discuss emerging business opportunities and trade issues facing the region. The 29^th PBEC IGM, entitled "Beyond Rhetoric : Implementing Free Trade & Investment in the Pacific Region," was hosted by the PBEC United States Committee in Washington D.C. from May 17-22, 1996.
