After a successful World Digital Economy Summit – Speakers and a few Malaysia Members of PBEC were treated to local cuisine and a cultural experience at the Penang Governors Residence.
Hosted by Governor Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak PBEC CEO Michael Walsh was joined by Tan Sri Michael Yeoh CEO of KASI and VIP guests where a 7 course dinner and a music display were kindly provided. Everyone was asked to wear traditional dress and had an opportunity to take pictures within the grounds. Several Govt dignitaries were present and business leaders from across Malaysia many of whom made the trip over from Kaula Lumpur and surrounding States.
“I met with several key decision makers, entrepreneurs and NGO leaders on this short but powerful trip of engagement. Malaysia is a key economy for ASEAN and the region from an industrial and services point of view. Lower labor, rental/lease costs, abundance of energy and land available as well as 5G network installation for further enhanced manufacturing development which comes with tax friendly industrial parks makes it an attractive destination for the right fit. Many young Malaysians are tri-lingual and can converse in English and Mandarin as well as their own Malay language. There are excellent schools both private and public to choose from, globally recognised universities and a pretty descent and affordable healthcare system which makes moving your family to the country a more easy process and decision. There seems to be a bit of stability and confidence returning at the National Govt level which helps build trust. This allows the regional state Governments to be more proactive in engaging DFI prospects. Additional air connectivity routes and planned major infrastructure upgrades which bodes well for Malaysia’s digital 4.0 economic aspirations to be reached by 2035.” Stated PBEC CEO Michael Walsh
